Barberry Crimson Pygmy
Barberry Crimson Pygmy is a well-branched dwarf deciduous shrub prized for its vibrant foliage and dense, full-to-the-ground habit. The small oval leaves of Barberry Crimson Pygmy emerge crimson red with a bronze tinge and become a brilliant red in fall.
In spring, Barberry Crimson Pygmy produces tiny yellow flowers followed by abundant bright red fruits that remain on the stems even after the leaves drop. For best color, plant Barberry Crimson Pygmy in full sun with well-drained soil. This hardy shrub is drought tolerant and deer resistant, making Barberry Crimson Pygmy an excellent low-maintenance choice for borders, foundation plantings, and compact hedges.
