Aspidistra Cast Iron Plant

Aspidistra Cast Iron Plant is a hardy, slow-growing evergreen perennial known for its exceptional tolerance of a wide range of growing conditions. The Aspidistra Cast Iron Plant features thick, glossy, lance-like leaves that typically reach 12 to 20 inches long and are most often a rich dark green. Some cultivars of the Aspidistra Cast Iron Plant may display variegated foliage with yellow or cream striping or spotting, though these varieties tend to be less vigorous. Small, insignificant creamy-purple flowers may appear at soil level in spring. Aspidistra Cast Iron Plant grows best in partial shade and well-drained soils and is drought tolerant once established, making it an excellent low-maintenance choice for shaded landscapes and indoor or outdoor use.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Water regularly.  Keep out of the full sun to prevent leaf bleaching and flopping. Direct contact with strong winds while still young may cause plants to uproot, use of a barrier in highly windy areas may be needed until established.
