Ilex Strongbox®
Ilex Strongbox® (Holly) is a squat, rounded evergreen shrub prized for its dense, tidy, spineless green foliage, providing a compact and attractive form in the landscape. In spring, Ilex Strongbox® produces inconspicuous female flowers that, when properly pollinated by a nearby male holly, develop into clusters of inky-black berries, adding seasonal interest and wildlife value. Thriving in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils, Ilex Strongbox® is exceptionally durable and resistant to disease, pests, and winter burn, making it a low-maintenance choice for hedges, borders, foundation plantings, or container gardens.
