Fern-O. Royal Fern

Fern-O. Royal Fern (Osmunda regalis) is a tall, rich green deciduous fern prized for its broad, elegant fronds that turn yellow or bronze in fall. Royal Fern adds dramatic texture and height to shaded landscapes, woodland gardens, and wet garden areas.

The spores on Fern-O. Royal Fern appear in showy, tassel-like clusters on the frond tips, creating additional seasonal interest. This fern thrives in part sun and prefers rich, acidic, moist, well-drained soil.

Note: Deciduous ferns may remain dormant until late spring. During dormancy, the plant may appear as a pot of soil upon delivery, but a healthy, robust Fern-O. Royal Fern is waiting to emerge.
