Fern--O. Cinnamon Fern
Fern-O. Cinnamon Fern (Osmunda cinnamomea) is an upright deciduous fern known for its striking display of both sterile and fertile fronds. In spring, the fertile fronds of Cinnamon Fern emerge stiff and quickly turn brown, while the sterile fronds unfurl a soft yellow-green and mature to a vibrant yellow in fall.
This fern thrives in part sun and prefers rich, acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Fern-O. Cinnamon Fern (Osmunda cinnamomea) adds bold texture and seasonal interest to woodland gardens, rain gardens, and shaded borders.
Note: Deciduous ferns may remain dormant until late spring. During dormancy, the plant may appear as a pot of soil upon delivery, but a healthy, robust Fern-O. Cinnamon Fern is waiting to emerge.
