Best planted in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils, Ilex Sparkleberry thrives in gardens designed for seasonal color and wildlife.
Ilex Sparkleberry is dioecious, meaning both male and female hollies are needed for fruit production. As a native plant, Ilex verticillata, the species behind Ilex Sparkleberry, provides food for birds, pollinators, and acts as a host for moths and the Henry's Elfin Butterfly.
