Nikko Blue Hydrangea is a bold-branching deciduous shrub that blooms on old wood. Its large serrated medium green leaves have no fall color. The color of the lacecap clusters depends on the soil PH - acidic soils produce bright milky blue flowers, while alkaline soils produce pink-hued flowers. The flowers are highly attractive to butterflies. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.
