Callicarpa Early Amethyst
Callicarpa Early Amethyst Beautyberry is a loose, open deciduous shrub prized for its vibrant ornamental berriesand exceptional seasonal interest. This beautyberry shrub features mild green foliage that provides a clean backdrop for its show-stopping fruit display and does not develop notable fall color.
In summer, clusters of tiny lavender-pink flowers bloom along the stems, attracting bees and butterflies. These blooms are followed by brilliant magenta beautyberry fruits that ripen earlier than standard Callicarpa varieties and persist into early winter, making Early Amethyst Beautyberry an excellent choice for extended landscape color.
For best fruit production and foliage color, Callicarpa Early Amethyst Beautyberry performs best in full sun, though light shade can improve drought tolerance. This adaptable shrub works well in mixed borders, wildlife gardens, and naturalized plantings.
