Crape Myrtle Sunset Magic™ (Lagerstroemia indica 'PIILAG-IX') is a compact medium-sized deciduous shrub with an upright habit and exfoliating bark. Crape Myrtle Sunset Magic™ features oval leaves that emerge reddish-purple and darken to extremely dark purple as they mature. Crape Myrtle Sunset Magic™ produces heavy blooms of large, ruffled true red panicles that smother the branches from summer into fall.
This vibrant crape myrtle performs best in full sun and rich, well-drained acidic soil. Crape Myrtle Sunset Magic™offers excellent disease resistance to common crape myrtle issues, making it a low-maintenance and reliable choice for landscape beds, borders, and mixed shrub plantings.
