Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu
Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu is a compact female cultivar of a shade-loving evergreen shrub known for its distinctive foliage. Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu features narrow, glossy, deep green serrated leaves heavily splashed with bright yellow, adding bold color to shaded landscapes. When grown in full shade, the branches of Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu may arch and reach the ground, creating a graceful, layered form. Small maroon flowers appear in early spring, followed by bright red berries that ripen in fall and persist through winter into spring when a male pollinator is present. Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu prefers rich, moist, well-drained soils and performs best in partial to full shade. Deer resistant and easy to maintain, Aucuba Hosaba Hoshifu is an excellent choice for foundation plantings, shade borders, and woodland gardens.
