Camellia Bonanza
Camellia Bonanza (Camellia sasanqua ‘Bonanza’) is an upright evergreen shrub with an open, spreading habit and glossy deep green leaves that provide year-round structure in the landscape. This sasanqua camellia is especially valued for its vibrant fall and winter blooms.
From mid-fall into winter, Camellia Bonanza produces abundant semi-double crimson-pink flowers highlighted by bright yellow stamens, creating bold seasonal color when most plants are dormant. The blooms attract butterflies and pollinators, making this camellia both beautiful and beneficial.
For best flowering performance, Camellia Bonanza thrives in partial sun and acidic, well-drained soil. Its graceful form and extended bloom season make it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, hedges, woodland gardens, or as a striking focal point.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Medium maintenance. Too much water retention can increase susceptibility to fungal diseases, including root rot, black mold, blight, canker, anthracnose, and leaf spots. Watch for aphids and spider mites. Yellowing leaves indicate acidity too low. Fertilize monthly in spring and summer. If desired, remove all but one bud from each cluster to increase the size of the flower. Prune immediately after flowering.
