Soft Caress Mahonia

Mahonia eurybracteata 'Soft Caress'

Soft Caress Mahonia is a compact clumping evergreen shrub with soft bamboo-like compound leaves that turn purple in fall.  Pinnacles of fragrant bright yellow flowers bloom in spring and are followed by highly ornamental powdery blue fruit clusters.  Best in part sun and moist well-drained soil. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Spreads by suckering- unless naturalization is desired remove suckers as soon as they appear

LANDSCAPE USES: Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Naturalized Areas, Foundation Plantings, and Hedges.

COMPANION PLANTS: Coral Bells, Hosta, Oakleaf Hydrangea
