Illicium Bananappeal®
Illicium Bananappeal® is a small, upright evergreen shrub with aromatic foliage that appears chartreuse in shade and turns brighter yellow in full sun. In late spring, Illicium Bananappeal® produces yellow-green flowers that are subtle but give way to non-edible, star-shaped seed capsules with a licorice scent—do not ingest. This hardy shrub is not a substitute for the culinary spice from Illicium verum. Thriving in rich, moist, well-drained soils, Illicium Bananappeal®is drought-tolerant once established and offers improved sun tolerance and disease resistance, making it a low-maintenance choice for borders, containers, and shaded garden areas.
