Gardenia Frostproof
Gardenia Frostproof (Gardenia jasminoides) is a cold-tolerant, upright evergreen shrub prized for its thick, glossy dark green foliage and extremely fragrant semi-double white flowers. In warm climates, Gardenia Frostproof can bloom nearly year-round when temperatures remain above 60°F, while cooler regions enjoy heavy flowering from late spring through early summer. This hardy gardenia thrives in partial sun and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Known for tolerating more direct sunlight than many gardenias, Gardenia Frostproof also produces flower buds that resist frost damage, making it an excellent choice for reliable blooms, foundation plantings, and fragrant landscape accents.
