Mahonia bealei
Leatherleaf Mohania is an evergreen shrub with irregular upright stems in a tiered habit. The leathery olive green compound foliage resemble spined holly leaves. Long panicles of fragrant yellow flowers bloom in spring and are followed by clusters waxy blue-black berries that resemble grapes. Best in part sun and moist well-drained acidic soil. Salt and drought tolerant. Note: Considered invasive in the southeast.
