Blue Deckle Hydrangea
Deckle Blue Hydrangea is a compact deciduous shrub that blooms on old wood. Its serrated dark green leaves turn purple in fall. The color of the large panicles of mophead flowers depends on the soil PH - The pale pink or lavender is in alkaline soils, while acidic soils produce the signature soft blue flowers. The flowers attract pollinators. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils. Deckle Blue may rebloom later in the season, and is more PH sensitive resulting in a wider range of shades.
